The Timeless Icon of London
This month, I celebrated my 30th birthday with my partner in London, and we wanted to mark the occasion somewhere truly unforgettable. We chose to stay at one of the most iconic hotels in the city: Claridge’s.
Located in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge’s is far more than just a luxury hotel; it is a London institution. Since the 19th century, it has been associated with timeless elegance, impeccable service, and refined glamour. Over the decades, Claridge’s has welcomed royalty, celebrities, designers, and discerning travelers from around the world. It is one of those rare places where history and modern luxury blend seamlessly.
Claridge’s has held a special place in my heart for some time. I had visited the hotel before, once for lunch and once for dinner and each time I was captivated by the atmosphere, service, and magic of the hotel. But this was the first time I had the pleasure of staying there, and it exceeded every expectation.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt like a dream. The welcome was incredibly warm, the check-in seamless and personal, and every detail handled with such grace. When we entered our room, I was surprised by the thoughtful amenities my partner had arranged, along with a bottle of champagne waiting for us. It was the most perfect way to begin my birthday celebration.
We stayed for four nights in one of the newly renovated rooms: the beautiful Mayfair Balcony Room, part of the hotel’s stunning new chapter. Claridge’s has carefully refreshed many of its rooms and suites, blending contemporary luxury with the timeless character the hotel is famous for. The result is stunning: spaces that feel both modern and luxurious.
Breakfast quickly became one of the highlights of our stay. The extensive menu offers beautifully prepared dishes such as different styles of eggs, pancakes, seasonal fruit and much more. Guests can enjoy breakfast in both Claridge’s Restaurant and the Foyer & Reading Room, with Foyer & Reading Room being the hotel’s main breakfast setting. This elegant space is also where the famous Afternoon Tea is served and is open for dinner as well.
Beyond the restaurants, the hotel offers every luxury you could wish for. The spa and wellness space are a sanctuary in the middle of the city, designed for complete relaxation. There is also a gym, a discreet concierge service that can arrange anything, and a level of attention to detail that is rare to find.
What made this stay truly unforgettable, however, was not only the beauty of the hotel, but the feeling Claridge’s gives you. It can make every guest feel like the most important person there (at least that’s what we felt).
Turning 30 felt like a milestone, and I cannot imagine a more perfect place to celebrate it than Claridge’s. It was romantic and filled with memories I will cherish forever.
