A Dream Stay in the Heart of Rome
One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed (so far)— is Hotel de Russie, a 5-star gem tucked away in the heart of Rome. I first discovered it back in 2018 when I visited the property with my parents just for lunch, and from the moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was completely in love. I remember thinking; one day, I have to stay here.
A few years later, and that day finally came. For my birthday, my partner surprised me with a stay at Hotel de Russie, and it was nothing short of magical. From the elegant rooms to the dreamy spa and those hidden garden corners perfect for sipping espresso or prosecco—it was everything I imagined and more. It’s not just a hotel; it’s a Roman fairytale come to life.
A dream come true
Hotel de Russie is, without a doubt, one of the most iconic and elegant hotels in Rome, and truly a personal favorite. Nestled between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you're stepping into a peaceful oasis right in the middle of the city. What makes it so special to me is not just its 5-star luxury, but the way it blends timeless Italian style with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the memories of course.
The secret garden is a dream; lush, quiet, and perfect for a morning cappuccino or an evening cocktail. Waking up at Hotel de Russie and starting the day with a coffee in the garden is pure magic. Sitting under the trees with the soft sounds of the fountain and the city just beyond—it sets the tone for a peaceful, joyful day. A small moment of happiness that stays with you.
The garden restaurant, Le Jardin de Russie, is just as enchanting for lunch or dinner. Surrounded by greenery and Roman charm, it feels like dining in a secret garden in the heart of the city. We celebrated my birthday dinner here, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was exceptional, the service warm and refined, and the atmosphere unforgettable. It's the kind of place that turns a special occasion into a lasting memory. And just steps away, you’ll find the Stravinskij Bar—an ideal spot for a pre-dinner aperitivo or a late-night cocktail under the stars.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, blending classic elegance with modern comfort in a way that feels effortlessly luxurious. Every detail is carefully considered. From the soft, neutral tones and high-quality fabrics to the stylish furniture that gives the space both character and calm. One of the standout features was the walk-in closet, which made settling in feel more like moving into a private apartment than a hotel room.
All the essential amenities were there (of course), plush robes, premium toiletries, a well-stocked minibar, and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and a welcome treat. The bathroom was a true highlight: large, beautifully tiled, and styled with nods to traditional Roman design.
The hotel has a spa where you can recharge and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Guests can choose from a carefully curated menu of holistic treatments—each designed to restore balance and reconnect body and mind. The spa also includes five treatment rooms (including two for couples), a saltwater hydropool, sauna, steam room, a Technogym fitness area, and a relaxation lounge serving fresh juices and herbal teas.
